Daisho - $15,000
A beautiful hand-made daisho by Francis
with a katana and matching tanto. The blades are done in
the style
of the Rai family of swordsmiths. The blades were
made from the same billet so the activity in the two blades
is virtually identical. The Katana has a kitai bohi (forged
groove), not a cut groove.
The katana and tanto both have matching
koshirae with a two-tone light and dark brown laquer. The
katana has
an older set of fittings with
a silver peone flower theme. The tanto tsuka has a bare
same' wrap with simple grooved iron fuchi/kashira and a set
of peone flower menuki that are modern.
